New static Sea Hawk model released for use by scenery builders. This is non-flyable, no animations, and wired with wings folded and parked configuration. Several repaints will be available soon for this model.
UPDATE 16/12/08: For those users with problems downloading models, try using IE.7 or Firefox, as these seem to be the most trouble-free browsers).
The Sea Hawk project has made the front pages of several FS sites, including: FSPortugal.com, FSVisions.nl and Ausflightsim.net. As of the 15th, there have been over 2,000 model downloads, and over 300 repaint downloads. If you haven't already done so, join the Sea Hawk owners club now!
UPDATE 14/12/08: A few users have reported problems with downloading the models. I have checked my site bandwidth and apparently I am still well within limits. Keep trying and you should be able to get the download popup to appear (note, it may take longer with the larger zips, such as the F.1).
UPDATE 13/12/08: Full project has launched. Repaints now available with more to come over the weeks.
A big thanks goes to Charlie 'Skippy' Bing for his Martin-Baker Mk.2 ejector seat and pilot models, both of which saved me a lot of time. He also provided me with a lot of technical expertise which I am very grateful for. Cockpit gauges were generously supplied by Dave Garwood and Co. from their Hawker Hunter model, while the superb soundset (an Allison J33, the closest I could find to the RR Nene) is supplied with permission from Greg Logan. The FDEs were built by Jerry Beckwith of Mudpond.org, James Pettigrew and Brian Horsey, so a big thanks to them too. Finally, thanks to the good folk of the Classic British Flight Simulator and the Free Flight Design Shop forums who provided superb reference and technical help, and also the Midland Air Musuem in Baginton, Coventry, for answering questions and letting me in WV797. The Museum staff are helpful, knowledgable and generally superb and I would certainly recommend a visit if you want a hands-on experience that many museums do not offer.
